The Midi Ring

This season has seen the likes of the low heel and the mini bag but my new favourite accessory is the midi

The hint is definitely in the name with these beauty's that sit perfectly on the middle of your fingers adding a quirky dimension to any ensemble.

These super cute rings are so hot right now, with even the likes of the beautiful Rihanna rocking them!

These rings can be worn in one of two ways. In the first picture I placed each ring on seperate fingers and in the second they are bunched in a trio on one finger, which I think looks really lovely.

I bought these midi rings from Topshop for £6.50 and they are available in sizes small, medium and large. These are in a 'bow' style but they come in a variety of designs and colours.

They are very comfortable and do not slide off as I initially thought they would. You 100% have to get your hands on these! I completely love them.

What do you guys think of the midi ring?

How to clean your make up brushes.

The use of make up brushes makes all the difference when applying your make up. They give a beautifully flawless finish to any look, but if they are not washed in the correct way, they can cause much more problems than they resolve! Dirt and even bacteria can become trapped in between the bristles of the brush and can consequently cause your pores to become clogged.

I use the Dermalogica special cleansing gel in order to help clean my brushes! I use this product as part of my skin care routine but it works a treat when cleaning my make up brushes too! Click HERE to view this product. (£27.00)

Step 1. Begin by running your brush under lukewarm water.

Step 2. Squeeze a pea size drop of special cleansing gel into the palm of your hand.

Step 3. Swirl the wet brush in a circular motion in the special cleansing gel and continue to repeat this process until there is no residual make up in the bristles.

Step 4. Leave the brushes on a towel to dry.

My money saving tip - if you do not wish to splash out on the special cleansing gel, then fill a bowl with lukewarm water and add a small drop of shampoo! Simply swirl your brush in the bowl and then run it under a tap. Repeat this until the water runs clean.

So there you have it my beauty's, my guide to achieving gorgeous, clean brushes!

Let me know how you get on with it.

Ugg Fluff Flip Flops

There is nothing that quite beats the feeling of coming home after a long day, sitting down with a cuppa and putting on your pj's. (Especially since the temperature has dropped!) The highlight for me? Kicking of your heels and slipping on your fluffiest slippers.

Ugg's new collection is always something to get excited about and once again they have outdone themselves. They have introduced the most amazing flip flops, perfect for winter evenings.

I know what you're thinking, fluff flip flops at this time of year but they are effectively slippers and have to be a favourite of mine. Cute and comfortable?! Now that is not something you hear everyday.

Available in a variety of colours and for a very reasonable £60, it would be rather rude not to!

Made from beautifully soft sheepskin, these sandal style footwear will make you the envy of all those around you.

Designed to be worn inside or out, these would make the loveliest gift for any loved one this Christmas.

I have recently found a beautiful shoe store in Southampton just around the corner from my university, Scarpini, that stocks a huge selection of different Uggs. Click HERE to view these stunning slippers and more super gorg shoes.

Let me know what you think of these ultra sweet new arrivals. They are a must have!

Dermalogica Overnight Clearing Gel

The overnight clearing gel by Dermalogica is a fast working treatment that reduces any excess sebum in the skin which in turn helps to clear affected areas.

I have tried applying this product in two ways. I initially applied the gel in a thin layer all over my face. More recently I applied the gel specifically to the problem areas.

Personally, I found the latter much more affective. With this MediBac gel, less is definitely more! I use the tiniest amount on each blemish, changing the finger that I use to apply it each time to ensure that I am not spreading any infections!

Not only have I found this clearing gel to be affective on existing spots, but I also apply it to areas where I can feel a potential spot developing.Click HERE to view this product.

I would 100% recommend this for its fast working capabilities and effective outcomes.

What's In My Handbag?

With every new bag I buy, the content stays very much the same! So I decided that it was about time that I participate in the generic 'what's in my handbag' blog.

This is my stunning electric blue Ted Baker bag made from faux pony hair.

A pocket size mirror - Let's face it, we've all experienced that awkward moment when your date points out that you've got red lipstick on your teeth. So by having a quick glance before heading out it is always a great way to avoid any more embarrassing mishaps occurring. Shown in the picture is my gorgeous pink Dior mirror.

My lipgloss - whatever colour you decide to wear, you should always carry it with you because you will certainly need to give yourself little touch ups throughout the day. I currently have my Bobbi Brown lip gloss (Rosy 22) in my bag.

Concealer/foundation - much like reapplying your lippy, it's always a good idea to keep a concealer with you just to ensure that all of those naughty little blemishes remain hidden! With me at the moment is my Bobbi Brown foundation stick. (Natural tan 4.25)

Chewing Gum. I always have a piece of chewing gum after eating a meal out! It gets rid of any unwanted after tastes and leaves you smelling minty fresh, after all who wants coffee breath?!

Perfume - I tend to change the fragrance I wear from day to day, but whenever I do, I make sure it's always with me when leaving the house. Some perfumes last longer than others but it's always nice to give yourself a little spray during the day to ensure you smell fabulous all day/night long. At the moment I am using my Lady Million fragrance by Paco Rabanne.

My purse - I always carry my purse with me just in case! You never know when you might find the worlds most amazing dress or sexiest heels. This is one of my fav purses, in leopard print from River Island! I love their bags and purses because they look extremely expensive and come in a range of different designs and colours but are completely affordable!

Note pad and pen - as a budding journalist, you just never know when or where you might find a story. So I keep this pad and pen with me to make sure that I am always prepared should the need for it arise. Not only this but it's also super handy for jotting down reminders and numbers. (It's a great way to stay organised!) The note pad and pen in the picture is from Ted Baker and was a complimentary gift as  part of a bodywear set that I purchased!

An umbrella - I always carry an umbrella with me, purely because you can never truly trust British weather. You might wake up to clear blue skies and foolishly leave the house without your rain coat and umbrella, and what do you know? The heavens open and your beautifully groomed hair is not so beautiful anymore! I picked up this really cute umbrella from Primark.

My iPod - whether it's to keep me entertained during a long journey or just to have playing quietly whilst doing some work in the library, my iPod is an essential item in my handbag. (And it's pink which makes me love it even more!)

Hand Cream - I apply hand cream throughout the day to keep my hands feeling smooth and to keep them smelling lovely! The image shows my wild rose hand cream from the Body Shop.

So there you have it, the contents of my handbag! I've definitely noticed a pink and leopard print theme!

Comment and let me know what you have in your bag. Thank you for reading sweeties!

Tangle Teezer Hair Brush

Anyone who has curly hair will, I'm sure, be accustomed to a plethora of tangles every time they try to tackle their lovely locks. I am unfortunately no exception to this rule. However even those with the sleekest of hair, are prone to the occasional knot from time to time!

Having struggled to find a brush that can handle such complications, I decided to try something new.

This tangle teezer brush glides through your hair with very little tugging and most importantly no pain.

When I initially took it out of the box, the soft bristles seemed too weak to be capable of removing large knots. But how wrong I was!

They really do work quickly and efficiently with fantastic results! For me, one of the biggest advantages is the fact that it doesn't damage hair as much as when using a regular brush. It combs out knots without breaking the hair. Click HERE to view this product.

Whether it's for young children or yourself, this product is most definitely a must have for all hair types and ages.

How To Manage Your Wardrobe

A question I always seem to ask myself when shopping is, 'do I really need this?' Admittedly, being the shopoholic that I am, the answer is most commonly 'yes,' but I occasionally manage to restrain myself and leave the store empty handed.

Like most women, I have a host of clothes in my wardrobe that I hold on to with the excuse that 'I will wear it one day!' However, the reality is, you probably won't. So here's my little tip to show you how to keep track of whether you are getting use out of all of your clothes or not!

Place all of your hangers in the wardrobe with the hook facing outwards, or more simply 'the wrong way around.'

So, how is this relevant? Well, whenever you wear an item from your wardrobe just turn the hanger around the right way so that the hook is facing inwards.

After a month of following this tracking process, assess your wardrobe situation! Are there still any hangers that haven't yet been turned around the right way? And if so, why haven't you worn that item? It may just be that the appropriate occasion hasn't arisen to wear your LBD or disco pants but if the realisation is that you have just been avoiding an item, then GET RID OF IT!

I'm sure you'll find a good home for any unwanted clothes, whether it be some classic hand-me-downs to a younger sibling or perhaps taking them to a clothing bank!

Hopefully this post will help to sculpt your wardrobe and guide your future shopping sprees! Stay beautiful! Lots of love, Kenzie xxx

The Mun (Man Bun)

As I've tried to express before, this blog isn't just for all of the gorgeous females out there, it's also for the fellas!

Today, it's all about the hair and unless you are one of the Geordie Shore lads, no man likes admitting that they secretly care about their 'do.' So I'm going to tell you exactly what's hot at the moment to keep you bang on trend this Autumn! The mun.

Now I know what you're thinking, what the heck is that?! The mun is simply the term used for the man bun. So if you have slightly longer hair, then get yourself a hair band and slick it back!

This look has also taken Hollywood by storm, with many male celebs from Bradley Cooper to Orlando Bloom opting for the mun. (See below.)

I personally think it's a really sexy and fresh look, so why not give it a go?!

What are your thoughts on the mun? Lots of love, Kenzie xxx

The Skort

This Autumn we have seen the return of a major 90s fashion trend, the skort!

For many, it has taken them back to their PE days of jumping the horse and skipping rope, but I think they are amaze.

I mean, have you ever been out on a windy day rocking a skirt and with no warning what so ever a huge gust of wind sweeps away all of your dignity revealing your ever so unattractive Bridget Jones knickers? If so, then the skort is this seasons go to piece for you!

This hybrid fashion item, skirt at the front, shorts at the back, can be worn in a variety of ways. I personally would glam the outfit up by adding a nice top and a pair of low heels! But I have seen this piece teamed with high tops and an oversized T-shirt which looks equally fab for an effortless day time look.

This stunning Verity skort in white from misguided would go with just about anything! (I love white!) Click HERE to view this item. (£17.99)

TIGI Catwalk Curlesque Curls Rock Amplifier

I have naturally curly hair but without any product in it, it gets a little crazy! So I use Curls Rock Amplifier by TIGI to help define and control my curls. Click HERE to view this amazing product.

However this does not just have an effect on people with curly hair. If you are looking for effortless, beachy waves then this is also the product for you.

Simply apply the substance to wet hair and use your fingertips to run the Curls Rock Amplifier from the roots to the ends. Once it is evenly distributed over the hair scrunch the hair up with your hands in order to create a wave or curl.

To achieve a medium hold, I always dry my hair using a diffuser. This helps to distribute air evenly to maintain beautiful curls without any frizz! It also helps to separate hair to create more defined waves. Click HERE to view this item.

Depending on the length of your hair between one and two pumps should be more than enough for a stunning finish.

With it's delightful fruity fragrance and unbelievable results, I couldn't possibly recommend this product more highly!

White Eyeliner

Being a make up lover and working in Hollister doesn't initially seem to go hand in hand. The company insists on all employees looking extremely natural by wearing very minimalistic beauty products and preventing the use of eyeliner and bold colours. (Nightmare!)

However, I have a fantastic beauty tip to ensure your eyes are looking as gorgeous as ever, whilst avoiding applying any black eyeliner. The secret? Simply by changing to a white eyeliner your eyes will look more natural but still big and beautiful at the same time!

Using a white eyeliner pencil on your water line can create the illusion that you have much bigger eyes than you actually do by extended the eye's white colour and in doing so is extremely subtle. This is particularly effective on people with deep set eyes or smaller eyes.

I have recently tried out the Rimmel Soft Khol Kajal Eye Pencil in white. (£2.99) Click HERE to view. I decided to start with this because I didn't want to invest in something that I may not use but I absolutely loved it! This soft pencil provides a very bold colour that gradually fades over time which adds to the natural look.

If you like this look on you, then why not invest a little more? Mac Eye Kohl pencil in the shade Fascinating is a gorgeous product that last a little longer in my opinion. Click HERE to view.

Here is the very gorgeous Scarlett Johansson rocking this beautiful look!

Let me know how you get on with it lovely readers. I can't wait to hear what you thought. Lots of love, Kenzie xxx

Nair Hair Removal Cream

One thing all women agonise over, is hair removal. Its almost overwhelming how many options are available to us, but finding the right one for you can be some what tricky.

Today I am focusing specifically about hair removal on the legs. Having experienced all methods myself, I have concluded that my preferred approach is using a hair removal cream.

Veet is great and works really efficiently, however, in my opinion, it can be a little costly. So now I always opt for Nair!

I first stumbled across their products whilst desperately searching the shelves for the only brand I had ever used for hair removal, Veet. I was preparing for a party and couldn't believe I'd ran out. After unsuccessful searching, I spotted the Nair cream and decided to try it. Its completely fab!

The cream works between five and six minutes but can be left on for a maximum of ten minutes if you have slightly darker or thicker hairs. It leaves my legs feeling incredibly soft and lasts for anything up to a week! As well as this, unlike shaving you avoid 'prickley' hairs growing.

Like most beauty items there are a couple of minor disadvantages, the smell of the cream is not particularly fragrant but it is quickly eradicated after washing it off. Also the tube will only last for two/three applications. However, I have found that this is much like any other hair removal product as a large amount of cream is required to cover both of the legs.

Taking everything in to consideration, this method of removing hair is quick, easy and has extremely long lasting results.

Whilst removing the cream I recommend investing in a small sponge to ease the cream and hairs away with. I also think that this provides a more flawless finish!

In most super markets, Nair hair removal cream is only £1.10 per 100ml as appose to paying £4.50 per 100ml for Veet!

Let me know what form of hair removal suites you best! Lots of love, Kenzie xxx
